COVID-19 cases keep climbing

The Ministry of Health recorded 33 new cases of COVID-19 on Thursday, January 7.
Three cases were recorded in Region One, three in Region Two, one in Region Three, 12 in Region Four, one in Region Five, three in Region Six, one in Region Seven and nine in Region Eight.
The total number of recorded cases in Guyana is now 6,469. 137 cases have been recorded in the first week of January.
The COVID-19 death toll is currently at 167. There have been three deaths recorded so far this month.
As of January 7 there have been 39,892 persons tested for the virus. 5,990 persons have recovered leaving 312 active cases in the country.
