The Ministry of Health recorded 59 new cases of COVID-19 on Tuesday September 29. Eight cases were recorded in Region One, six cases in Region Three, 39 in Region Four, one in Region Five, one in Region Six and four cases in Region Eight.

The total number of cases in Guyana is now at 2, 846.

The death toll has risen to 80 with the deaths of a 77-year-old man and a 67-year-old woman, both from Region Four.

As of September 29, a total of 13,988 persons have been tested for the virus. A total of 1,644 persons have recovered, leaving the number of active cases in the country at 1,122.
