The Ministry of Health recorded three new cases of COVID-19 on Tuesday, December 8. One case was recorded in Region One, one in Region Four, and one in Region Seven.
The total number of recorded cases in Guyana is now 5,700.
The COVID-19 death toll has risen to 155 with the deaths of an 81 -year-old man from Region Seven, a 55-year-old man from Region One on Sunday, and a 34-year-old woman from Region Four on Monday.
As of December 8, there have been 32,397 persons tested for the virus. Some 4,870 persons have recovered from the virus leaving 675 active cases in the country.
The COVID-19 Emergency Measures (No.11), will remain in effect until December 31, 2020. The order emphasizes the need for correct and consistent use of a face mask when leaving home; maintaining the six feet physical distance from others, and the need for good hand-hygiene to help reduce the spread of COVID-19
