Mechanic found guilty of rape at Imbaimadai

A mechanic caught back in 2018 in the bedroom of a 36-year-old woman and raped her after she left a party will spend some time behind bars for his crime.

The rapist, 48-year-old Odingo Emmanuel, called ‘Dingo’ was found guilty by a jury before Justice Priya Sewnarine-Beharry in the Suddie High Court in Region Two.
Emmanuel raped a 36-year-old woman at the Imbaimadai Landing, Upper Mazaruni River back in August 11, 2018.
Emmanuel is expected to be sentenced on January 7.
Reports are that the victim was at the party in the area with two of her friends when she and her friends decided to go home.
Upon reaching her residence, the woman recalled that her door was tampered with. The woman found Emmanuel in her bedroom.
Emmanuel upon seeing the woman threw her on the floor and raped her. The woman fought back and dug her fingernails into Emmanuel and screamed for help.
Four minutes into the act, the victim’s reputed husband came home and grabbed Emmanuel, who managed to escape from the house. A report was made to the police and Emmanuel was arrested and charged.
