24-year-old Kevin Narine, a Police Corporal who was attached to the Presidential Guard Unit, lost his life yesterday morning after he lost control of a Toyota Land Cruiser he was driving at the time. He crashed into a utility pole before plunging into a nearby trench.
Narine was said to be driving at a fast rate along the East Bank Demerara public road at Coverden when he attempted to overtake several vehicles. He lost control of the vehicle.
Narine along with three other persons who were in the vehicle at the time of the accident were rushed to the Diamond hospital where Narine succumbed.
One of the three persons were later rushed to the Georgetown Public Hospital.
Investigations into the accident is currently ongoing.
