Speeding CBR kills elderly man on smaller motorbike

A speeding CBR motor cycle crashed into a smaller motor bike ridden by a 60-year-old man on Tuesday on the Cumberland East Canje Public Road, killing him instantly.
Dead is Clifton Sukhoo of Lot 70 New Street, Cumberland, East Canje Berbice. The accident occurred around 12:20 hr.
Sukhoo was proceeding South on the eastern drive lane on his motorbike CH8875 when he was struck by a CBR Suzuki 500 motorbike CG 5056 driven by Salim Baksh, 35, of Lot 63 East Canefield East Canje Berbice.
It is reported that Sukhoo had taken his bike to the mechanic to be repaired and was on his way home when he was struck and killed. He had stopped at the center of the road in an effort to turn into New Street Cumberland to head home when he was struck from the rear by the CBR which was proceeding at a fast rate of speed.
As a result of the collision, Sukhoo was reportedly hurled into the air. He landed some distance away. Both riders fell onto the road surface and received injuries.
They were picked up in an unconscious condition and taken to New Amsterdam Hospital where Sukhoo was pronounced dead on arrival. Baksh was admitted for treatment and his condition has been listed as serious.
The body of Sukhoo was taken to the Hospital Mortuary awaiting a Post Mortem examination.
