-Kills one, injures others

On Thursday, a 14-year-old boy attacked his family members with a knife, killing his brother-in- law and injuring his sisters.

The boy had tested positive for COVID-19 and was being kept in isolation in accordance with the COVID-19 guidelines.

Dead is Ramdat Singh, 55, of Bat Creek, Pomeroon where the incident took place.

According to the sister of the boy, Joan Williams, she left home on Thursday with her children; Nalie Williams, six; Kissoon Williams, three; Chrissy Williams, one; and sister, Jennel Williams.

She said that they left the teen sleeping at home. They returned around 30 minutes later and she saw her brother who was armed with a knife, attack Ramdat Singh and stab him until he fell to the ground.

The boy then charged at her and stabbed her several times in the chest. He also stabbed Chrissy in the back, Kissoon in the abdomen, slashed Nalie’s throat, and stabbed Jennel in the chest before fleeing the scene.

The injured persons were taken by boat to the Charity Hospital where Singh was pronounced dead. The others are receiving treatment.

It is thought that the teen’s time in isolation may have been the cause of his sudden rampage.
