The Police are now investigating the circumstances that led to the death of man whose body was found with his eyes out and with brain matter close by.
So far, police have only identified the dead man as being of East Indian descent.
A statement from the police indicated that the man was found Thursday morning, just around 1:30 hours at the De Hoop Public Road, Mahaica.
At the scene, police said that the body of the man was seen laying on the northern side of the said road naked and with what appears to be a wound to the forehead and abrasions about his body.
A closer examination found that the man’s right eye was found pushed out of its socket and brain matter was seen on the road shoulder.
The body was then escorted to the Mahaciony Cottage Hospital where it was pronounced dead on arrival by a doctor and then escorted to the Anthony Funeral Home for identification and post mortem. Further investigations are underway.
