The Ministry of Health recorded 24 new cases of COVID-19 on Wednesday November 18. By today, there was another COVID-19 death.
The COVID-19 death toll has increased to 144 with the death of a 60-year-old woman from Region 4 on Wednesday.
Eight new cases were recorded in Region Four, one case in Region Six, one in Region Seven and 14 cases in Region Eight by yesterday.
The total number of recorded cases in Guyana is now 4,914. Region Four still contains the highest number of recorded cases at 2,362 followed by Regions One and Seven with 812 and 419 respectively.
As of Wednesday there were 25,756 persons tested for the virus. The number of active cases in the country is 808.
