Police have taken a 16-year-old suspect into custody to assist in the investigation of the death of 15-year-old, Rocky Sawh.
Sawh died after being shot to the head on Tuesday evening.
Sawh was invited by the suspect to his home at Sandy Babb Street, Kitty, for a sleepover. The two teens were said to be home alone.
Police said the suspect breached the lock of a wardrobe where a licensed .32 Taurus Pistol, owned by his father, was stored. The teen was showing the weapon to Sawh when he accidentally pulled the trigger.
Sawh was shot to his right side head and fell to the ground. He was taken to the Georgetown Public Hospital and admitted in a serious condition. He succumbed to his injuries at around 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
Sawh’s body is currently at the Hospital Mortuary awaiting a postmortem.
The .32 Taurus Pistol with seven live matching rounds, a spent shell and 149 .32 rounds were retrieved from the scene.
