Senior counsel, Edward Luckhoo and Robin Stoby have been appointed by the High court to act as mediators to possibly resolve the ongoing dispute between the Government of Guyana and the Guyana Teachers’ Union.

The mediation process, as was ordered by the court, will begin tomorrow, Friday March 1, 2024 at 9am.

However, Attorney General Anil Nandlall SC did not submit any nominees. He begged the court for the GTU and the Ministry of Education to meet “as was previously agreed upon “.

Mr Nandlall believes that the mediation process isn’t necessary.
