Internationally acclaimed singer joins COVID fight in Berbice

Tamika Marshall teams up with Berbice Chamber of Commerce and Development Association to assist needy in Berbice

Guyanese singer, Tamika Marshall, is teaming up with the Berbice Chamber of Commerce and Development Association (BCCDA) as they distribute food hampers to needy families in Berbice.

Marshall, who is an internationally famed artiste, travelled to Berbice and joined with the BCCDA in the fight against the novel Corona virus (Covid 19) Pandemic .

So far more than 4000 food hampers were distributed to various areas and homes for the elderly.

According to a release from the Chamber, the food distribution is being done in phases. A number of communities and organisations benefited from phase one of the distribution.

These included Angoy’s Avenue with 600. The Dharm Shala and the Good Samaritan Homes for the elderly, each received 100 food hampers.

Another 200 were distributed in Edinburg, East Bank Berbice; 200 in Stanleytown; Fort Ordnance and  Canefield Villages in East Canje both collected 200 hampers; Savannah Park in New Amsterdam, another 200, while the Gay Park, Overwinning area got 200 also.

Other areas benefitting included Sheet Anchor, Canefield and Betsy Ground Villages in East Canje. Another set of hampers will be distributed this week in various other areas of Berbice.
