Already facing several charges of fraud through the use of the “Blessings Circle”, an Assistant Nurse was today slapped with 15 more charges and was granted bail in the sum of $300,000.
The defendant, Keziah Roberts, of Lot 88 Eping and Ituni Avenues, Bel Air Park appeared yet again in court. And like the first occasion, she denied the allegations against her as she stood before Magistrate, Leron Daly.
Roberts was subsequently granted bail in the sum of $300,000 and ordered to return to court later next month.
On the last occasion, Roberts was charged on four counts of fraud, and was granted $180,000 bail.
It was noted through investigation by the Special Organized Crime Unit (SOCU), that Roberts would have collected monies from several individuals. The promised returns never came and Roberts could not have been heard from.
Due to deeper investigation, it was revealed that Roberts would through the Business names ‘Kapital Kare Investment’ ask persons to invest in the company in expectation of high returns.
Several persons would have invested varying amounts of money. Roberts could not be heard from during pay time and those matters were reported.
SOCU was later advised to charge Roberts with obtaining Money by false pretence, and also with obtaining Money by False Pretence Contrary to Section 99 of the Summary Jurisdiction (Offences) Act Chapter 8:02.
Roberts was later subjected to a wanted bulletin. She later surrendered herself to the police.
