Problems at St Roses Secondary

Students, teachers, and other staff of St. Roses Secondary School remain unhappy with the smell and sewage overflow into the compound. There is also the noise coming from the nearby construction.
With one of the main buildings in the school currently under construction, the return to school for students, teachers, and other staff have been quite rough.
For weeks, those present at the school even for a limited time continue to complain about the level of noise that comes from the nearby construction. The noise during school hours is causing some distraction to all.
While having to deal with the noise, the school now has to deal with overflowing sewage that has been flooding some areas of the school and also giving off an awful smell.
The situation has led to numerous complaints to the Ministry of Education but to this day nothing has been done.
Head of the School Board, Kenrick Thomas, explained that the school is currently engaging the Ministry to have all classes remain online until the issues at the school are fixed.
“We are trying to make arrangement to have school done remotely in the interim and in relation to noise we will be having a meeting today with the contractor to ensure that all noise is done outside of working hours.”
Mr. Thomas also said that it’s an ongoing talk and no decision has been made yet going forward.
