Region Nine gets advanced health care

The Government today marked a significant milestone in the advancement of healthcare education and training in Region 9. The Stimulation Laboratory at Lethem Regional Hospital officially opened its doors. The facility will serve as a crucial learning hub for students enrolled in the Hybrid Professional Nursing program and the Hybrid Nursing Assistant program.

The Stimulation Laboratory will provide students with hands-on experience and practical skills crucial for their future careers in healthcare.

Through immersive simulations and cutting-edge equipment, students will have the opportunity to develop their clinical competencies in a safe and controlled environment, ultimately enhancing the quality of patient care in the region.

In addition to the inauguration of the Stimulation Laboratory, the launch of the Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) program and the Community Health Worker (CHW) program further underscores the commitment to strengthening healthcare services in Region 9.

Currently, 28 MLT students and 40 CHW students are undergoing intensive training, poised to become valuable assets in addressing the healthcare needs of the community.

This initiative represents a collaborative effort between the Lethem Regional Hospital, Regional Democratic Council, Ministry of Health, Health Sciences, and healthcare professionals, demonstrating a collective dedication to advancing healthcare education and enhancing the overall well-being of the region’s residents.
