The Ministry of Health today received a donation of 500 units of Haliborange Baby and Toddler Multivitamin Liquid from Massy Distribution, valued at $700,000.
The donation marks a significant step in enhancing the School Health Programme.
Minister of Health, Dr Frank Anthony accepted the donation from Bhashkaranand Singh, Director Massy Distribution at the Ministry of Health’s Headquarters, Brickdam.
Dr Anthony emphasized the importance of the donation in supporting the Ministry Ongoing School Health Program.
He stated that the ministry has started to screen every school-age child to make sure that they’re healthy. As such the donation will support such an initiative.
In terms of the screening the ministry has started at the nursery level where about 12,000 children would be screened by the end of this year.
Then the goal is to screen 7000 students at the primary level where any abnormal signs would be dealt with immediately.
Today’s handing over ceremony saw Several Officers from the Ministry of Health and Massy Distribution Guyana present.
