Trinidadian authorities have confirmed the discovery of skeletal remains believed to be that of an 18-year-old teen Hannah Mathura who was never reported missing. The remains were buried one feet deep.

The gruesome remains were found yesterday in the backyard of a home off Butu Road, South Valsayn at a home described by residents as haunted.

Some years ago a man who was said to be a bandit fell from the same home and died. It has since been renovated.

Acting on information from a male relative on Sunday, police officers, went to the residence yesterday morning and set to work excavating a 15-foot by 10-foot area in the backyard.

The police were guided by a male relative, who pointed out the area. He also told officers that he suspected the woman had been buried in the yard since 2017.

The police officers also stated that when they arrived at the location, they found nine children locked inside the home. The children told police that they had been locked inside for ‘some time’ and had not been allowed to leave.

The same male relative who was accused of burying the body and said to be responsible for the commune has since fled and remains on the run.
