Speeding driver crashes, kill

Police are investigating a fatal incident which claimed the life of a hire car driver on Auchlyne Public Road, Corentyne, Berbice. The driver lost control of his vehicle and collided with a Guyana Power and Light utility pole.
Ezekiel Kampadoo, a 24-year-old of Tain, Corentyne, was said to be proceeding at a fast rate when he failed to slow down while making a right turn and lost control of the vehicle, which swerved onto a nearby grass parapet and collided with a GPL Pole.
As a result of the collision, the car flipped and ended up in a trench. A teenage occupant who was also in the car received injuries.
They were both picked up by public-spirited citizens and taken to Port Mourant Public Hospital, where they were seen and examined by the Doctor on duty. The driver was treated and transferred to New Amsterdam Public Hospital, where he succumbed while receiving medical attention.
His body is presently lying at the New Amsterdam Public Hospital’s Mortuary awaiting Post Mortem Examination.
